FAQs on AJCC 8th Edition Cancer Staging Manual

Question: Is it true that the first print of the AJCC 8th Manual has large sections missing and significant changes will need to be made between now and the implementation date in 2018 that will result in a completely new book?

Answer: No, that is not true. The AJCC 8th Edition Manuals that were published in October 2016 are accurate. The staging systems will not change. There are, however, some errata which have come to our attention and are posted on the AJCC website. The list of errata will continue to be updated routinely.

The AJCC will not provide replacement copies of the 8th Edition Cancer Staging Manual. None of the errata are significant enough to necessitate a reprint until the current inventory of manuals is depleted.

Question: Will there be an electronic version of the AJCC 8th Edition Cancer Staging Manual, and if so when?

Answer:  The 8th Edition Cancer Staging Manual will be made available as an eBook with an Amazon Kindle and Apple iBook version. These electronic versions of the book are scheduled to be available the third quarter of 2017.
