World Cancer Day is an international day marked on Feb. 4
to raise awareness of cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection and
treatment. World Cancer Day is an initiative of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) with a goal to significantly reduce
illness and death caused by cancer by 2020.
The Cancer Program of the American College of
Surgeons encourage you to observe World Cancer Day and use this as an
opportunity to display/promote your connection to the American College of
Surgeons. To help you promote this event the Cancer Programs have
developed a poster that you can download and print. Additional resources can be found on the World Cancer Day website.
